The Schwinn Fastback Adult Performance Road Bike is designed for beginner to intermediate cyclists seeking an affordable option for road biking. With its aluminum frame and Shimano Tourney components, this bike offers a good entry point for those who want to get into cycling without breaking the bank.
Pros:
- Easy Assembly: The bike comes 90% pre-assembled, making it relatively simple to put together in about an hour. For those familiar with bike mechanics, the process is straightforward.
- Lightweight Frame: Despite being aluminum and not carbon fiber, the frame is light enough to handle climbs well, which is great for hilly areas.
- Good Shifting: The bike’s gear system works well, with smooth transitions between speeds, making for an enjoyable riding experience.
- Comfortable for Short Rides: The stock seat is suitable for short-distance rides, and the overall design offers a decent level of comfort for beginners.
Cons:
- Tires: The stock tires are prone to frequent flats, especially on rough roads. Many users have had to replace them after multiple issues, with Continental 5000 tires being a recommended upgrade for better performance.
- Gear Adjustments: The gears require frequent adjustments, particularly after rough rides. This can be a hassle for those not familiar with bike maintenance.
- Seat Comfort: While okay for short rides, the seat is tight, and padded shorts are highly recommended for longer distances.
- Basic Components: The Shimano Tourney components are entry-level, which is acceptable for beginners but may feel limiting for more experienced riders. Additionally, some parts, like the pedals, may require upgrades for a better experience.
Purchase Recommendation: The Schwinn Fastback is an ideal bike for beginners or casual riders looking for a budget-friendly option. It’s easy to assemble and offers a decent ride for short to medium distances. However, be prepared to make a few upgrades, especially to the tires and possibly the gears, for a smoother, more reliable experience. If you’re just starting out or need a second bike for lighter rides, this is a good option, but advanced riders may want to invest in something with higher-quality components.

Sava Warwind 3.0 Carbon Road Bike Review
The Sava Warwind 3.0 offers an impressive combination of performance and value for those seeking a carbon road bike. While it has a few sizing and assembly quirks, it delivers a smooth and fast riding experience.
Size and Fit:
Many users note that the bike runs large; for instance, a 5’4″ rider found the 48cm frame too big and needed to have the seat post adjusted. Proper fitting instructions would be beneficial to help riders find their ideal size more easily.
Assembly and Build Quality:
The bike is relatively easy to assemble, with most riders completing it in under an hour. However, there can be minor issues like misaligned pedals that may require a visit to a bike shop for professional adjustment.
Performance:
Once set up, the Warwind 3.0 impresses with its lightweight construction and smooth ride, making it suitable for both casual rides and races. Many riders have compared it favorably to higher-end brands like Specialized, noting its comparable performance at a fraction of the price.
Pros:
- Lightweight carbon frame
- Smooth and fast ride
- Excellent value for money
Cons:
- Size may run large; fitting adjustments needed
- Assembly instructions could be clearer
- Minor issues with pedal threading reported
Recommendation:
If you’re looking for a high-quality carbon road bike without breaking the bank, the Sava Warwind 3.0 is a solid choice. Just be prepared to make minor adjustments for the best fit and performance.
I bought this bike about seven weeks ago and I’ve been riding it for about four – amazingly fast delivery actually. While the frame arrived with shipping damage, the company, Sava, has been very responsive and a new frame is on the way! (So, if you’re worried about them taking care of you, sit back and relax – though the quarantine will slow things down a bit, I have no worries at all.) In the meantime, since it’s only slight cosmetic damage, I’ve been riding this amazing bicycle every chance I get!
Be warned, if you haven’t owned a machine like this – it’s FAST!!! I bought the 78mm wheels because I ride a lot and I wanted the full aerodynamic experience. The Sava Phantom 2.0 delivered! The Ultegra gear is outstanding and the bike looks great (see attached picture of me and the Chesapeake Bay on my new speed machine)! I tuned the bike to my stature and needs very quickly and easily and the bike performs flawlessly!
